Log In and Read Application Status
Open wbgazettepart2.in, click Login, enter the registered mobile, click Send OTP, enter the OTP. The Application Status page opens first. Your application number, WB/PART-II/202X/XXXXXX, is listed with its stage. Right after submission it reads Pending, which means the file is with the scrutiny team under the Nodal Officer. If you have not submitted yet, start with the application walkthrough.
Within 24 hours of Final Submit you also see Click to revise; after that the file is locked and only the shortfall route can change it.
Act on the Shortfall SMS, If One Comes
If the team finds a gap, an SMS arrives on the registered mobile with an OTP link. Open it, read what is asked (a clearer newspaper scan, a photo under 100 KB, a mismatched name, a missing decree), fix or re-upload, and submit. The 7-day clock starts again from the complete file.
Do not file a fresh application. That is a second fee, and the guideline says false or incomplete information forfeits the fee.
Wait for the Approval SMS
When the file is in order, the notification is issued within 7 days of submission, per the guideline. An approval message comes to the registered mobile and Application Status updates after login. Check the number you registered, not a family member's phone.

Log in and download your notification from the portal Home page. The compiled month's issue is under the Monthly Gazette tab; your notice appears inside it. Save the PDF in two places and print several copies. No certification is needed; the downloaded notification is the record.
It is not on egazette.gov.in. That portal carries the Gazette of India only, and searching there for a Part II notice returns nothing.

- Was a shortfall SMS missed? Check the registered number's inbox and spam. The OTP link is the only way to fix the file after 24 hours.
- Did the GRIPS receipt match? A wrong deposit ID or amount stalls the file at the payment stage without a visible error.
- Was the affidavit Magistrate-attested? A notary affidavit cannot supply the affidavit number the declaration needs and is a standing shortfall.
- Is the address the same everywhere? Affidavit, ID and registration address should agree.
