Passport and Central Gazette From Kolkata: When the State Gazette Is Not Enough
For Aadhaar, PAN, banks and state records, the Kolkata Gazette Part II does the job in a week. For a passport reissue at the Regional Passport Office, a visa, a central Government post or a board outside West Bengal, the office wants the Gazette of India. The same affidavit and Kolkata newspaper pages go into the central file; only the attestation differs, and the Magistrate-attested affidavit is accepted by Delhi too.

A display ad instead of classified text
Kolkata dailies quote display rates in thousands. Classified text does the same job for a few hundred rupees.
Only the state gazette for a passport
The RPO looks for the Gazette of India. Do both if a passport is anywhere in your plans.
An agent quoting a "Kolkata central gazette office"
