Krishak Bandhu and PM-KISAN Name Mismatch in West Bengal
A West Bengal farmer can get help from two schemes: the state's Krishak Bandhu and the central PM-KISAN. Each checks the farmer's name against a different record. PM-KISAN pays only when the name matches Aadhaar. Krishak Bandhu is built on the land record (Record of Rights or khatian), patta, or registration as a sharecropper. When the khatian still carries a late father's name, or Aadhaar spells the farmer's name differently from the bank, the money stops. This page shows which record to fix for each scheme.

Krishak Bandhu and PM-KISAN Name Mismatch (Quick Answer)
For PM-KISAN, make your name match Aadhaar: use "Updation of Self Registered Farmer" on pmkisan.gov.in or visit a CSC or the agriculture office. For Krishak Bandhu, your name must be on the khatian or patta; if land is still in a late parent's name, get it mutated at the BL&LRO first. Keep the bank account in the same spelling. No gazette is needed, and most fixes cost little or nothing.

| Problem | Fix |

Krishak Bandhu and PM-KISAN in West Bengal: Two Schemes, Two Name Records
Krishak Bandhu was started by the West Bengal Agriculture Department through notification No. 112-AG dated 17 January 2019, with assured income and a Rs 2,00,000 death benefit for farmers aged 18 to 60. The 2019 notification set Rs 5,000 an acre; the revised scheme, as described on Wikipedia and in guides, now pays Rs 10,000 a year for one acre or more, and a minimum of Rs 4,000 for smaller holdings, in two instalments.
It covers farmers with land in the Record of Rights, patta or forest patta holders, and recorded bargadars (sharecroppers). Payments go through the cooperative banking system and DBT.
PM-KISAN is the central scheme paying instalments of Rs 2,000 to eligible farmer families. Its payments depend on the farmer's name matching Aadhaar.
So the same farmer can be blocked in one scheme and paid in the other, because each looks at a different paper.
PM-KISAN Name Mismatch: Match Aadhaar Exactly on pmkisan.gov.in
News reports explain that a mismatch between the name in PM-KISAN and on Aadhaar can stop instalments. The fix online is on pmkisan.gov.in, under Farmer Corner, using Updation of Self Registered Farmer: enter the Aadhaar number and make the name exactly as Aadhaar shows it.
Offline, visit a Common Service Centre or the agriculture office with Aadhaar, land papers and the bank passbook. e-KYC can be done by face authentication in the app or biometrics at a CSC.
If Aadhaar itself is wrong, correct it first; see name change in Aadhaar.
Krishak Bandhu Name Mismatch: The Khatian on Banglarbhumi Matters
Krishak Bandhu is built on your land record. Your name on the Record of Rights (khatian) should match your Aadhaar and bank passbook. You can see the khatian on Banglarbhumi.
If the khatian spells your name wrongly, apply to the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer for correction; see mutation and name correction in Banglarbhumi.
Recorded sharecroppers should check that their name is spelt the same in the bargadar record.
Inherited Farm Land Still in a Late Parent's Name: Mutation First
If the land is still recorded in your late father's or mother's name, the khatian does not show you as the owner. The fix is mutation in the names of the heirs at the BL&LRO office.
Mutation is not proof of ownership by itself, and a registered deed is never rewritten; mutation updates the revenue record. See name change in property documents.
Until mutation is done, ask the agriculture office what it will accept for Krishak Bandhu in your case.
Krishak Bandhu Rs 2 Lakh Death Benefit: Legal Heir's Name
The Rs 2 lakh death benefit is paid to the legal heir of a farmer or recorded sharecropper who died between 18 and 60. Guides list the deceased's death certificate and land record among the papers.
If the heir's name on Aadhaar differs from the name on the legal heir proof, give an affidavit linking them; see one and the same person affidavit.
If the farmer's name differs between the death certificate and the khatian, the Registrar or BL&LRO corrects the wrong one.
