Jai Bangla Old Age Pension Schemes in West Bengal: Taposili Bandhu, Jai Johar and More
Finance Department notification No. 1157-F(Y) dated 6 March 2020 started two new old age pension schemes from 1 April 2020: Taposili Bandhu for Scheduled Caste and Jai Johar for Scheduled Tribe persons above 60, at Rs 1,000 a month, for ordinary residents of West Bengal who do not already get another social security or government pension.
Under the Jai Bangla umbrella there are also the general old age pension, and old age pensions for farmers, fishermen, and artisans and handloom weavers, among others.
The notification says pension is paid to the bank account of the beneficiary on the 1st of each month through central processing.

Jai Bangla Pension Documents: Age Proof, Caste Certificate, Bank and Aadhaar
The 2020 notification asks for one document as age proof, a caste certificate for the SC and ST schemes, bank account details and Aadhaar. Guides to the umbrella scheme also list residence proof and photographs, with extra papers for some sub-schemes.
Lay them all out and write the name as each one shows it. For older people, these papers may have been made decades apart by different offices, so spellings, initials and surnames can drift.
The name on the bank account and Aadhaar matters most, because the money moves through them.
Age Proof for Jai Bangla Without a Birth Certificate: Voter ID or School Certificate
Some older people have no birth certificate. Use another age proof the office accepts, such as the voter ID or a school certificate, and check its name.
A voter card can be corrected free through Form 8; see name change in voter ID. Aadhaar date of birth can be changed only once, so be careful there.
If two age proofs show different names, give an affidavit that they are of one person; see one and the same person affidavit.
SC or ST Caste Certificate Name for Taposili Bandhu and Jai Johar
For Taposili Bandhu (SC) and Jai Johar (ST), the caste certificate is the second supporting document. Its name should match the age proof and Aadhaar.
