Coal India's FAQ for its 2026 recruitment, dated 5 May 2026, says the name, email, mobile number and other credentials given at registration cannot be changed or corrected during the online process or at any later stage. It asks candidates to fill the name "correctly as per your educational certificates".
Advertisement 01/2026 adds in clause 10(d) that no modifications are allowed after submission, and that if the data filled online does not match the original testimonials, candidature is liable to be rejected. The FAQ repeats that any wrong entry not found substantiated will lead to cancellation.

Which Paper Your Coal India Application Name Should Match: Class 10 First
Match your educational certificates, starting with the Class 10 (Madhyamik) certificate, which also fixes your date of birth. Then check your highest qualification, such as the B.Tech or diploma certificate, against it.

When ECL acquires land, the land losers and their families can be offered employment under the company's scheme. ECL Dependent Employment: Name Mismatch With the Worker's Service Record
Coal workers are covered by the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA), which allows employment to a dependant when a worker dies in service or is declared permanently unfit. In a 2016 Calcutta High Court case on an ECL claim, the court read NCWA-VI clause 9.3.3 as listing the wife or husband, unmarried daughter, son and legally adopted son, and held the list to be exhaustive.
