Student Credit Card Name Mismatch in West Bengal
The West Bengal Student Credit Card scheme, launched on 30 June 2021, gives students a study loan of up to Rs 10 lakh at 4 percent simple interest. The application passes through three hands: your institution verifies it, the Higher Education Department reviews it, and a bank sanctions the loan. Each checks your name against a different paper: your institution's records, your residence proof and your bank KYC. A spelling difference between them can send the application back. This page shows what to match before you apply.

West Bengal Student Credit Card Name Mismatch (Quick Answer)
For the West Bengal Student Credit Card, your name should match on Aadhaar, your school or college records, your proof of 10 years' residence in West Bengal and your bank account. Your institution verifies the application first, so its records matter most. Fix Aadhaar and the institution's record before applying, or keep an affidavit ready for any small difference. Applying on wbscc.wb.gov.in is free; the helpline is 1800-102-8014.

Schemes and their rules can change, so check the portal for the current status before you apply.
Who Checks Your Name in a WBSCC Application: Institution, Department and Bank
The state's announcement describes the flow: you register online, your institution verifies your details, the Higher Education Department reviews the application, and a bank processes the loan.
Each stage compares your name with its own records. The institution looks at its admission record; the department at your residence proof; the bank at your KYC.
So the safest path is one spelling across all of them before you click submit.
School or College Admission Record: The First Name Check for WBSCC
Your school, college or university verifies the application against its admission register. If it spells your name differently from Aadhaar, ask the institution to correct its record, with your birth certificate or Madhyamik certificate.
School certificates are corrected through the school to the board; see school certificate name correction.
If Aadhaar is the one that is wrong, correct it instead; see Bengali and English name differences on Aadhaar.
Proof of 10 Years' Residence in West Bengal: Domicile Certificate Name
The scheme needs 10 years' residence in the state. If you use a residence or domicile certificate, its name must match your Aadhaar; see domicile certificate name correction.
Older residence papers, such as school records from many years ago, may carry a home name. An affidavit linking the names usually explains this.
Students whose families moved within the state should keep papers from each place.
Bank Account and Co-Borrower Names for the Student Credit Card
The bank does its own KYC. Your account should be in the same name as your Aadhaar and application; see name correction in a bank account.
If the bank asks for a parent as co-borrower, the parent's Aadhaar, PAN and bank names must agree too; see PAN and Aadhaar mismatch.
The wider rules for bank education loans are in education loan name mismatch.
Student Credit Card Application Returned for a Name Mismatch: What to Do
If the institution, department or bank sends the application back, read the remark carefully. It usually tells you which paper does not match.
Correct that paper, or attach an affidavit linking the names, and resubmit. The helpline is 1800-102-8014.
Do not make a second registration with a different spelling. One clean application is better than two conflicting ones.
Student Credit Card vs PM-Vidyalaxmi Education Loan: Same Name Rule
Some students also look at the central PM-Vidyalaxmi scheme for education loans. Its portal checks Aadhaar, so the same one-spelling rule helps.
Scholarships use the same names; see OASIS and SVMCM scholarship name mismatch.
Keep one folder of papers, all in one spelling, for every application.
