PM SVANidhi Name Mismatch in West Bengal
PM SVANidhi gives street vendors small working capital loans in steps. After the 2025 restructuring, the first loan is Rs 15,000, the second Rs 25,000 and the third Rs 50,000, with lending extended to 31 March 2030. A vendor selling fish in Howrah, tea in Siliguri or vegetables in Kolkata needs their name to match on three things: the vending certificate or letter of recommendation from the civic body, Aadhaar, and the bank account. This page shows what to fix when they do not.

PM SVANidhi Name Mismatch (Quick Answer)
For a PM SVANidhi loan, your name should match on the vending certificate or ID card (or the civic body's letter of recommendation), your Aadhaar and your bank account. If the civic body wrote your name differently, ask it to correct the record; if Aadhaar is wrong, correct it at an Aadhaar centre. Keep the same spelling in your bank account, because loans and digital cashback go there. Applying is free; be careful of anyone charging to "arrange" the loan.

| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Vending certificate in a nickname | Ask the civic body to correct it |
| Aadhaar spelling differs | Correct Aadhaar |
| Woman vendor's surname differs | Marriage proof; update one record |
| Bank account in another spelling | Correct it at the branch |
| Second loan in an old name | Link the records with proof |
PM SVANidhi Loan After the 2025 Restructuring: Rs 15,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000
A December 2025 government note says the scheme now offers Rs 15,000 in the first tranche, Rs 25,000 in the second and Rs 50,000 in the third, and that lending is extended until 31 March 2030.
Vendors who repay the second loan on time can get a UPI-linked RuPay credit card, and digital sales earn cashback of up to Rs 1,200 a year, the note says.
Each step depends on the last, so a name problem in the first loan can follow you to the next ones.
In West Bengal, vendors are identified through their municipality or Kolkata Municipal Corporation, and loans come from banks, regional rural banks and other lenders.
Street Vending Certificate, ID Card or Letter of Recommendation: Name Must Match
Under the scheme's original guidelines, vendors show a certificate of vending or identity card from the urban local body, or, if they were left out of the survey, a letter of recommendation from the civic body or town vending committee.
These are written by municipal staff, often from what the vendor says, so nicknames and short forms can appear. If yours differs from Aadhaar, ask the municipality or KMC office to correct it, with your Aadhaar.
If you cannot get it changed in time, ask the lender whether it will accept an affidavit linking the names; see one and the same person affidavit.
Aadhaar Name and Linked Mobile Number for PM SVANidhi
Applications use Aadhaar for verification, so your Aadhaar name and linked mobile number matter.
If your Aadhaar name is wrong, correct it at an Aadhaar centre; see name change in Aadhaar. Bengali and English spelling differences are covered in Bengali and English name differences on Aadhaar.
Keep the mobile linked to Aadhaar active, as one-time passwords go there.
Bank Account Name for the SVANidhi Loan and Digital Cashback
The loan and digital cashback are paid into your bank account, so it must be in the same name. Correct it at the branch if needed; see name correction in a bank account.
Use one account for SVANidhi and your UPI sales, so repayments and cashback are easy to track.
Do not open a second account in a new spelling.
Women Street Vendors With a Changed Surname: Maiden Name on the Vending Card
A woman vendor's municipal card may show her maiden name while Aadhaar shows her married name, or the other way round.
Carry the marriage certificate and update one record so both agree; see Aadhaar name change after marriage.
If the vendor card was issued in a husband's name but she runs the stall, that is a question of who the vendor is, not a spelling issue. Ask the civic body.
Second and Third SVANidhi Loans and the Credit Card After a Name Change
The second and third loans follow timely repayment of the earlier one. If your name was corrected in between, carry proof so the lender links the old loan to your new name.
The credit card for vendors who repay the second loan on time will also check your KYC, so keep Aadhaar, bank and vending records in one spelling.
Other small business loans have similar rules; see PM Mudra loan name mismatch.
PM SVANidhi Application Is Free: Help at the Municipality or Bank
The application is free. Ask your municipal office or lender branch for help with the form.
If someone asks for money to get you a SVANidhi loan, refuse and report it to the municipality.
We help only if you need a name proof such as an affidavit. A simple spelling fix at the civic body or Aadhaar centre does not need us.
